Silence on their plans to exclude locals from their neighbouring streets

A hot topic on the doorstep has been the proposed Amyand Park Road restricted traffic scheme. It is not dead as some residents seem to think. Re-introducing new proposals is a major plank of Lib Dem policy but it doesn't feature in any of their campaign literature. Why not? Because they know it's not needed, and is unpopular. But it fits their wider war on car drivers.
As they made clear in their letter to residents after the initial consultation:
"further proposals for change will be shared with residents in the summer". In other words, after the inconvenient local election.
The 15 roads directly affected with restricted access are:
Amyand Park Road
St Mary's Terrace
Oak Lane
Devoncroft Gardens
Victoria Road
Haggard Road
Candler Mews
Strafford Road
Marble Hill Gardens
Marble Hill Close
Greville Close
Amyand Park Gardens
Napoleon Road
Bayliss Mews
Beauchamp Road
This will cause unnecessary inconvenience and difficulties for visitors, taxis, service providers and receiving deliveries. It will be inconvenient for residents who live nearby with extra traffic and additional displaced parking pressures.
Who is trying to push this scheme through? Lindi Louw, School Travel Advisor for Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. Council headcount has risen 22% since Covid. Maybe there are some roles that are just not needed?
Such a major disruption to everyday life should be discussed openly at election time. Why are the LIb Dems keeping quiet?
