Resurgence in younger voters turning to the Conservatives

Today's young conservatives are a different breed to the hard partying hedonistic stereotype of the 80s & 90s. In recent times, the Twickenham Conservatives have set up a fresh Young Conservatives group - and it's thriving.
I sat down with one member, Thomas Pacey aged 25, and over a pint listened to his take on the issues his generation need addressing. What became very apparent, and I've noticed this with other "youngsters" is how seriously they approach the future. But importantly it is the future they focus on rather than harking back to past political divisions.
Afterall, as Thomas says, "I was 9 when Cameron and Osborne introduced austerity, and 15 when Brexit happened",
What drew Thomas to joining the Conservative Party?
"Not to get drawn to the extremes of Reform or the fanciful policies of the Greens"
"Kemi wants to scrap Stamp Duty and make sure there are local jobs available for students and summer workers"
"Generally to give young people a better start in their career and make them feel they can achieve their best."
And on a local level?
"Having a conservative voice in the chamber allows for greater representation"
"Even the Liberals are talking about £39million cuts from Labour now. They haven't got a plan and have already put up Council Tax the maximum permitted every year. How can anyone trust them now in new circumstances."
"without an opposition there is not a proper debate and we cannot discuss our ideas"
There are many hard-working young people within our community who just want a chance to make a difference. We must find ways to give them the platforms they need to rationally debate and fine tune ideas. And then help them put them into action.
